I'm so glad to help you guys save money on your shopping trips! Coupon-ing has really helped my family to get more food and personal items on our small budget. But many healthy foods do not have coupons- like fruits and veggies. You can still save money on these items too! Hopefully you guys have started to menu plan and have really noticed a savings! How I save money on fruits and veggies is I check the Grocery Ad. This week asparagus is on sale at Meijer for .99¢ a pound, so that went on the menu. I check all of my local grocery ads, write down what fruits & veggies are on sale and those are the ones we eat for the week. Meijer has great sales on meat and veggies. I'll usually stop by on Sunday's to grab great deals. I really like their USDA Choice Beef, so I'll stock up when ground chuck goes on sale. I'll grab a roast when that's on sale or steaks too.
Here are my produce pics for the week:
Strawberries- 1 lb pack $2 @ Meijer
Asparagus 99¢ @ Meijer
Avocado 49¢ each @ Aldi
Tomatoes on the vine 79¢ pound @ Aldi
Then I also needed lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower. Because I was short on time, I went to Walmart and price matched all my produce.
